Former CEO of UniControl to Lead Next Phase of Growth at Quadsat.
Quadsat, headquartered in Odense, provides UAV-based antenna testing and Radio Frequency (RF) measurement solutions to the satellite communications and defense industries.
– The board of Quadsat has unanimously appointed Niels Bjerregaard as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, effective as of January 5, 2026. With this appointment, Quadsat strengthens its leadership capacity to accelerate global expansion, scale operations, and deliver on growth ambitions in the defense industry.
Niels Bjerregaard’s focus from the start will be to lead and define Quadsat’s strategy for the coming years, focusing on defining the company’s strategic direction and guiding the organization toward achieving its market development and revenue goals.
Niels Bjerregaard will succeed CEO, Joakim Espeland, one of the Co-Founders who transformed Quadsat from an idea and concept into a startup in March 2017 and grew it into the scaleup business it is today.
Karina Bergstrøm Larsen, Chair of the Board at Quadsat.
“We are very pleased to welcome Niels Bjerregaard to Quadsat. His extensive background, combined with a strong commercial and technical understanding, makes him an excellent choice to lead Quadsat into its next stage of growth”.
Quadsat is entering a new chapter. The Quadsat technology, originally developed to elevate the standard of satellite antenna testing, has rapidly matured into a strategic asset for defense stakeholders. With our drone-based, platform-agnostic solution, we can geolocate emitters, jamming devices, and validate RF environments with a speed and granularity that traditional systems simply cannot match. This operational agility strengthens Europe’s capacity to secure its spectrum and protect its communication infrastructure.
Over the past years, Quadsat’s products have been battle-proven in Ukraine. Since the battlefield realities in Ukraine have underscored a critical truth: the electromagnetic spectrum is highly used at the frontline. The ability to geolocate, map, and counter hostile RF activity is no longer optional — it is critical for national security and for safeguarding the European continent.
“We are confident that our new CEO will accelerate this global trajectory and ensure that Quadsat continues to scale growth —strengthening Europe’s defensive resilience, and driving forward a future where the electromagnetic spectrum is secured”, says Karina Bergstrøm Larsen.
Niels Bjerregaard comes with a background in finance and over 15 years of executive experience from both Danish and international companies in the technical sector.
As a graduate of the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Niels has lived and worked internationally before returning to Odense. Most recently, he served as CEO at UniControl, where he led the organization from its early growth phase to a successful business.
Niels Bjerregaard played a key role in UniContol’s strategic transition, joining American company Spectra Precision.
“I am truly honoured to join Quadsat and build on the strong foundation established by the two founders. Quadsat has already proven its ability to redefine antenna testing and RF measurement, and its technology is now playing a critical role in strengthening spectrum resilience for the defense sectors. My focus will be to sharpen our strategic direction, scale our global growth, and accelerate commercial execution. As the electromagnetic spectrum becomes an increasingly contested domain. Together with the talented team at Quadsat, I look forward to driving the next phase of Quadsat’s journey”, says Niels Bjerregaard, incoming CEO at Quadsat.
